Overjoyed . . . At how this #validress by @patternfantastique turned out. Pure linen Is a pleasure to wear in this heat! . This was originally a large table cloth bought in the sale a couple of years ago from @hmhome with the intention of using it as fabric. . I placed the pattern to make the most of the stripes, and cut and saved the selvedges to add to the hem as a decorative detail. I slightly shortened the sleeves and did not add the curved hem from the original pattern design, lengthening the dress instead. The bodice I cut twice to use as a self lining instead of facings. . Hands up if you approve 🙌🏻 ? . My first self sewn proper hat. . Sorrento bucket hat. Pattern by @elbe_textiles Fabric 100% pure linen from @sew__jessalli. . Notes, I made it larger as pattern only goes up to size L which is 24” and I needed a 25” so technically a size XL. (It’s for my mate she has a big head 😜) Also added in a medium to heavy weight iron on interfacing. As the previous trial hat was very floppy. This one is 👍🏻 perfect. . Being posted tomorrow now praying that it fits !
