Sports Shorts by Friday Pattern Company x Three
Whilst I may not admit to having an addictive personality, I will admit to becoming obsessive when it comes to new sewing patterns. The latest free pattern I am currently obsessing over is the Friday Sports Shorts by Friday Pattern Company A free pattern no less, it is absolutely perfect. However, although I no longer class myself as a sporty person, I do love a good leisurewear garment.
The Friday Sports Shorts.
Friday Pattern Company patterns are fast becoming my ‘go to’ patterns, well cut, and always on trend without being ‘trendy’ if you get my meaning? My first make was the best selling ‘Wilder Gown’ dress back in 2019. Closely followed by a wilder gown top. Next on my list will be the Ilford Jacket for either the old man or the boy! I digress, back to those Friday sports shorts . . .

Don’t let the name fool you, you do not need to do sports to wear these shorts! They are great for walking, lounging, working from home, gardening, sleeping, etc.

Why (In My opinion) They are a fabulous pattern.
In my opinion, these shorts can do no wrong, they use less than 1m of fabric, I used all scrappy leftover pieces, they are a fast sew, a pair can be made in an afternoon ( I made two in four hours) AND they are very, very comfy, mine are all presently being worn as PJ bottoms. simply pair with an old washed out soft cotton t-shirt and you are in pyjama heaven . . .

Overall, they are a really fun pattern that are great for using up scraps. We hope this pattern is something that is fun and inspiring for you. We love sewing and part of our mission is to help people find joy through the act of sewing, whatever your budget.
