Why You Can Never Have Enough Shirt Dresses
Shirt dresses R us, as far as I’m concerned, especially for Autumn. I know its a cliché, but worn on their own with sandals for warm days, layered up with turtle necks and boots for winter. Wear them open as jackets over a T-shirt and long shorts for city breaks and with jeans and a t-shirt for travelling. Transitional wardrobe sorted? I should say and yes, its as simple as that!

What Colour of Shirt Dresses Will Work Best With The Rest Of Your wardrobe?
To put it simply any colour you like! In my opinion if you like the colour, it will work for you. If you want to play by the wardrobe rules then of course, pick neutral tones in caramel, black, navy and grey, they will go with everything and take you anywhere. However, if you dont like those colours then what is the point of buying them? you probably won’t wear them.

Three Already In My Midlife Wardrobe!
I have 3 shirt dresses and counting, one is blue and white striped, one as seen above and one is black. All have been worn on repeat this summer. Im planning on making a corduroy version for Autumn, I just need to sort a simple pattern with the right design details aka pockets! Shirt dresses are so comfortable they are the perfect addition to my midlife wardrobe.

The one below is my absolute favourite, I love all the details, the curved hem, the empire seamline and just look at those simple but oh so elegant sleeves!
