Summer sewing is the best kind of sewing. During the warmer months I sew the project after project, I have ideas galore, it must be the light and the length of the days. Crocheting is for Autumn Winter projects. In summer I lay my hook down to rest. I don’t even know where my favourite hook is right now! My sewing machine is the king of my sewing realm.
A quick catch up of what I’ve been sewing recently?

5 summer sewing Projects.
1. Shorts for Him.
Using an old pattern from Burda (Burda 7230) I made him some long surfer shorts. Perfect for relaxing in at the end of the day. I have sewn these before and he loved them so much he requested another pair! Easy and quick to sew, I used fabric from my stash.

A Shirred Blouse For Me
I made this as part of a collaboration with Julia From Bobbins and Buttons we were discussing sustainability and Julia came up with a lovely blog series idea. She is inviting people who sew to express their views on sustainability and to get creative on extending the clothes in their wardrobe, by making a garment to bring old things back into wearable outfits. I chose this blouse, it is one of Julia’s designs for Love sewing magazine and can be downloaded for free.

3. A dress for a baby girl.
The best kind of summer sewing, sewing for a baby girl. No not ours! She is my cousin,s daughter, and she is the most beautiful little girl, I first met her when she was 4 months old. Having not had the opportunity to sew for a baby girl I relished the chance to make her a couple of dresses. The results you can see below. pattern is New Look 6578

Summer sewing is very quick and simple, perhaps that is the joy of it?
