August 2021 Making Reading Watching & Applying
How did August 2021 treat you? Are you slowly returning to an acceptable form of normality? No,I have no idea what that is either. Therefore, I think a slow catch up is in order. I call these my selfish posts because in the face of life racing forward at a remarkable speed, they help me remember the little things. The things that made us smile along the way. . .

Lately August 2021
August 2021 for us was a mixture of relaxing at home, shopping, eating out and making plans for the future. Plans for September, we have 2 birthday boys in September, plans for a home refresh and of course plans for Christmas! I went out and about with my son who was back from University for the summer. Needless to say we ended up at his favourite ‘watering holes’ but he did buy me a drink, a milestone first for us.

Making, aka. Sewing & Crochet
Lately Crochet has taken a back seat to sewing, as I am sure you will have noticed from my Instagram and stories . My favourite makes ‘sew’ far has to the Bucket hats by Elbe Textiles and these beautiful liberty print ‘Carolyn PJ’s ‘ by Closet Core Patterns

Applying: New At1 Skincare Finds & favourite
I was very lucky to be sent a beautiful new skin care range, before it had even been launched! AT1 skincare is the most beautiful natural and soothing skincare I have ever used! It is Luxury skincare without the luxury price tag. My favourite product costs only £38 The Luminating anti ageing serum is heavenly to apply and I really do imagine I can hear my skin saying ‘thank you’ when I apply it. I use it after cleansing and before moisturising.
At1 products are vegan-friendly, cruelty-free and sustainably sourced, so that you can rest assured that you’re not only protecting your skin but also the environment we live in. Our conscience is your conscience.

August 2021 Reading: Real Books Vs kindle E-Books.
I have read several books over the summer. I tend to read on my Kindle when reading in bed, as it is much easier to handle and no noisy page turning to annoy a sleeping partner either! My real books are usually from boot fair or charity shops. Here are three I have enjoyed lately . . .

August 2021 Watching Series & Documentaries
So many enjoyable series to consume, where to start? How about 9 Perfect Strangers with Nicole Kidman, are you watching it too? Did you know the hotel where it was filmed is a real luxury wellness retreat in Byron Bay Australia? In a nutshell, it is about a group of 9 people who for various personal reasons have booked them selves an expensive health retreat for therapy. Who are these people? What are their stories and why are they there? Is slowly being revealed as the episodes unfold. I love it!
I am also enjoying Vigil on BBC1 on Sunday, but I fear I may have already guessed the truth! As for documentaries I am overjoyed that ‘A house through Time’ is back for a new series. I love social History as the time we live in reflects our morals and attitudes.

. . .and a couple of His ‘n Hers House Clearance treasures!
