Statistics state that we only wear 20% of the everyday clothes in our wardrobe 60% (some statistics quote 80%) of the time. I am not sure how accurate this is because that means we do not wear the other 80% very often? During lockdown I have to admit this was true for me, I was that ‘sweats and T-shirt’ girl everyday, By the way, that is something I would deny vehemently if you met me in real life (don’t judge me, its my age!) I detest sweats pants and t-shirts, but I have learnt to appreciate the ‘comforting cosiness’ factor they provided during the pandemic. I digress, back to the everyday clothes subject . . .
My definition of Everyday Clothes
It may not be your definition, but to put it simply; my everyday clothes are what I choose to wear out to lunch, shopping, visiting museums, art galleries, meeting friends for coffee or a quiet brunch at the pub. I do not dress up for these occasions, I want to be comfortable and presentable My clothes do not wear me, I wear them, I do not want what I am wearing to distract from what I am saying. My clothes are a part of me but they are not the whole, they are not who I am. Does that make sense?
Jeans Dresses & Tops My Favourite Everyday Clothes
The three garments that I wear 100% of the time, this little pyramid puts it all into perspective. Jeans in blue, black and cream plus a few pairs of trousers. lots of simple tops and t-shirts topped off with blue, black and cream dresses in various fabrics.
My preferred Jeans Style & Where I buy them
Affiliate links in use.
I adore wide leg or relaxed straight jeans styling, with a mid to high rise waistline. In my opinion, for a woman of my age there is nothing more flattering or stylish! I shop at Arket, Uniqlo and of course Cos with occasional visits to Mango and H&M.
