Considering that none of us have had many days to shop or as I call it ‘mooch around’ our local charity shops. I view my latest charity shop find as nothing less than serendipitous treasure. I love the word ‘serendipity’ it sounds like its filled with magic and romance. Those 11 letters dance on the tongue especially the ‘dipity’ bit. I digress, back to charity shop finds . . .
Age UK is best for Charity Shop Finds
For some reason all my local branches of the Age UK Charity shops are where I find my best charity bargains. Be it books, ceramics, pottery or even tea-towels! Age UK is where its at for me. Plus it is a charity that does so much for our older UK generation. This year they have worked harder than ever, so I always feel its a win win situation, Im donating by buying, I’m saving clothes from landfill and supporting my parents generation.
The Details & the Tailoring Are Superb
Let me tell you about my latest find. A brand new (complete with labels, spare button and all tailoring features sewn up) wool and cashmere camel coat by Kin from John Lewis & partners With beautiful features including, a hidden button placket, all fully lined, with bound button holes and a very useful inner pocket.
This coat is warm, lightweight and cut to be over-sized with a relaxed fit. Perfect for me. Have I mentioned the price? It was a charity shop bargain at £14.99. I know, I could hardly believe it myself. The woman behind me was ready to jump in and claim it I could tell. I grabbed my prize, took it to the till, explained I didn’t need a bag and immediately wore it home!
