Face mists are not just for summer. Now autumn has arrived along with a change in the temperature and perhaps even central heating. I’ve upped my everyday skincare routine and added in a facial mist. I have long been a fan of face mists and sprays, they actually hydrate, soothe and treat your skin. Not to be confused with make up setting sprays or those cooling water type summer face sprays.
Facial Mists Are The New Toners!
Do you remember first discovering the Clinique 3 step skincare system back in the eighties? 1 Cleanse, 2 tone, and 3 moisturise, It soon became the beauty addicts mission in life. However, I also remember that some of the toners back then were very harsh, stripping skin of its natural moisture levels. Some of them caused more harm than good. Therefore, it is hardly surprising that even today toners have a bad reputation! Facial mists are the new toners and take it from me they are more pleasant and easier to use.
The 4 Mists I’m experimenting with Right Now
I have to say I’m a convert, I’ve had a look in my beauty cupboard for the facial mists I am using on a regular basis. In the name of research, (let’s call it curiosity, it sounds friendlier) I even popped to my local boots to see what they had on offer to purchase in real life! Not much as it turns out, there are lots more to choose from online.
The one I keep on my desk:
Botanics 100% organic Toning spritz for all skin types
This one is lovely for a revitalising, refreshing spritz whilst working on the computer. It wakes me up and I know its giving my skin a treat too. Win win a great price too, available from Boots
The One That Is Almost Empty:
Beauty Pie Jeju Daily Rehydration Mist
I use this every morning after my shower, before my moisturiser. Its cooling soothing and makes me face feel comfortable. Plus I like the smell! Unfortunately I cannot find it on the site, it may be back so I will leave this one here for reference. More Beauty Pie toners and mists.

My Favourite, & now added to my Autumn Skincare Routine:
Beauty pie Uber Youth Super Elixir Microbiome Mist
Yes another Beauty Pie product, There’s a reason they are so popular, they really work! This one is my favourite it can be used in place of a serum too, I use it after cleansing at night and before my night cream. It does everything I want it too and more. The microbiome is the skin’s natural microorganism barrier system and it needs protecting from the environment.
Uber Youth contains:
- POTENTILLA MIYABEI CALLUS EXTRACT 1% – A powerful anti-aging antioxidant and anti-glycation active
- HYDRANGEA PANICULATA EXTRACT 2.5% – Helps slow down the appearance of pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles

Made by hand in the UK in small batches, thus ensuring the freshest ingredients. Its beautiful and soothing to use.
The Lightweight Makeup Setting Spray
Beauty Pie Fresh Glow Breathable Setting Spray:
Not to be confused with the toning facial mists described above.
This summer, I wore very little makeup and even when I did I found it didn’t last very long in the heat. I bought this super setting spray and it solved my problem. After makeup hold it about 10 inches from your face and spray evenly, Let it dry naturally and your makeup will last a lot longer than it would have done without it. It also contains antioxidant Lotus Extract to protect from pollution.
