You know its almost Autumn when a new yarn range is launched. However this is not just any yarn collection this is Hue and Me a superb collaboration between Alexandra Tavel from Two of Wands and Lion Brand® a yarn company that is a fifth generation, family-owned business. I have been a long term admirer of Alex’s style and have made many of her patterns. Alex’s crochet style is modern, fun and she loves a chunky yarn, as do I . .

About Hue + Me & Why I Need More!
I love crocheting with a super chunky yarn, the project works up quickly and looks fresh and contemporary. However as the yarn is bulky you need more of it to complete a project. So to keep the cost down, I prefer my yarn to have a small percentage of wool in it, to feel soft and wash well. Afterall, to be able to wash and tumble dry your finished project is always a bonus, as I am sure all my fellow hookers will agree.

This lovely chunky yarn (called Bulky in the US) is 80% Acrylic and 20% Wool. It comes in a carefully curated colour palette consisting of 18 shades. Each colour works brilliantly on its own or with every other colour in the collection. In fact you could probably pick a colour palette with your eyes closed! As previously mentioned the added bonus of this yarn is that it can be washed and tumbled dried. Only. on a low heat of course!

The colour Pop Super Scarf Pattern In Hue + Me
I am sure you can imagine how delighted I was to receive a direct message on instagram, from Alex, explaining she had a secret project launching in September and would I like to be among the first to receive a sample of it? Of course I jumped at the chance, a few weeks later I received a box containing 4 colours of Hue and Me.
I chose the free pattern available to download from the Lion Brand site. Realising too late that I needed 5 balls of yarn for this project. I therefore, had to adapt the colour pattern to suit my needs. I think it turned out well, A quick make, I made it over a couple of evenings whilst watching TV. It was the tassel’s took the longest, the new kittens were assisting!
