The ensuite bathroom renovation is slowly progressing. Slowly because of the ‘usual suspects’ time and money. I am lucky in that Marc can turn his hand to anything and the results will be perfect. If you have been following along with the story so far, you will definitely be able to see progress in these new images…
Our ensuite bathroom renovation, a quick recap
Our house is 20 years old this year and as such the fittings and fixtures that come with a new house looked dated and worn. The rest of the house has been decorated in our style, but this room, being only used by us has been left until last. Sorely neglected it was time for a complete refit:
‘We’ aka Marc ripped and stripped the room bare:

Ensuite Renovation Update Progressing Slowly But Surely!
Then began to make good:
We found a superb plasterer:
Marc plumbed the shower in:
We went Tile shopping: ‘Faded Grandeur’ is my theme

Large faded pattern tiles for the shower area, with mirrored mosaics for the interior of the small alcoves.
Marc started tiling:
Surely one of the most exciting thing about an ensuite bathroom renovation?
He then up-cycled an old IKEA kitchen trolley into the bathroom fixture of my dreams
(Pls note, its not finished in the following images)
The trolley was sourced from a boot fair we paid £10 and it was brand new! they do still sell them in IKEA for £40 if you wanted to do the same as we did? I think its cheaper than a brand new bathroom fixture and perfect for a small space with no storage. Just add a sink…
The left over large tiles were cut down and randomly placed to tile the top:

Next came the handmade, bespoke finishing touches that Marc is brilliant at:
The Window ledge, before during and after…

The boxed in, now tiled pipe shelf:

We are presently saving up for the new toilet. I have plans for the alcove in which the toilet will sit BIG plans! I think this will be a room I will want to spend a lot of ‘pamper time’ in. What do you think of our ensuite bathroom renovation so far?
In a few weeks I hope to be able to share the full reveal with you, so watch this space, maybe sign up to my email list via the form below, then you won’t miss the reveal?
