Lately A Quick Glance Back At May 2019
Looking back is not my thing, I encourage my family to live in the present. I want to breathe in the here and now and only then make plans for the future. May 2019 was a sunshine filled month so I am recording a few moments to share…

May 2019 a Campaign Launch.
May was the month the Femal campaign launched. I was very proud to be chosen to take part in this campaign raising awareness of the Menopause and in particular the choices available to us. I learnt a lot about this misunderstood subject and I encourage everyone to talk about it
Have a little look at this fun, but reassuring video…you are not alone!
We Visited the Seaside!
Brighton used to be my hometown, I bought my own flat there in the mid 90’s. So you can imagine what a pleasure it was to go back and visit with my nearest and dearest in tow. We were there as a treat to ourselves to listen to a panel chat given by some favourite street artists.
We stayed at the inspiring Artist Residence and had a refreshing time out from chores and the normal stuff of life. I even managed to meet up with one of my oldest. We met on our Air stewardess training course, we were 21 and had our whole lives ahead of use…oh my gosh I have just realised that was 34 years ago !

Now we are 55!
A VIP visitor.
Regular readers will know that my Mum lives in Florida. Again we rarely see each other for obvious reasons, but in May we got to spend a week with each other. Some days were chilled and other days we went on little excursions. The best days are the ones when you make memories, that will last long after the day has passed.
On the day pictured below we took the dogs out for a walk in the wild meadow, just up from our house. The black and white dog adores my Mum and our latest baby pooch was very jealous of the attention he was getting…
Mum is almost 78!

If you need a Reason To Visit Dorset:
Old Harry Rocks
These amazing cliff formations can be seen from Studland Bay in Dorset. We took Mum for Lunch at one of our favourite Hotel’s The Pig on the Beach and after lunch walked 2 miles there and back to work off the calories! A stunning, majestic sight to see. Natures sculptures …
Half Term exploring and a photography project
The teen is studying A Level art and is exploring photography as a medium. He suggested a visit to the famous ‘Trellick Tower’ in West London. Luckily there was a half term break in May 2019, so we hopped on the train and set off…
Trellick Tower:
Trellick Tower is a Grade II* listed tower block on the Cheltenham Estate in Kensal Town, London. Opened in 1972 it was commissioned by the Greater London Council. Designed in the Brutalist style by architect Ernő Goldfinger. The tower was planned to replace outdated social accommodation, and designed as a follow up to Goldfinger’s earlier Balfron Tower in East London. It was the last major project he worked on, and featured various space-saving designs.
Trellick tower sits beside the Grand Union Canal and although I once lived in nearby Maida Vale, this area was unknown to me. We had a super morning exploring and then had coffee at a pub, by the Canal.
