Lately; Midweek Musings & Online Observations…
I haven’t written a Lately blog post for sometime, I do enjoy reminding myself of how we have been spending our spare time. A good old rambling blog post is far more enjoyable to me than writing a private journal. Therefore here are a few of my midweek musings and online observations.
2019 So Far…
Blogging:
At the beginning of the year I decided to do more of what I love and less of what other people expect me to do. Following on from this decision, I started 2019 off by blogging less and taking more time off ‘to be me‘ The break did me good and I am back with some fresh ideas and plans.
A Newsletter…
I have at last started a weekly newsletter, something that has been on my ‘would love to do list’ for sometime. I alert you to posts you may have missed, books I am enjoying reading, new television programmes I am loving and fab beauty products that have caught my eye recently. You can sign up on the form below this post if you would like to receive a weekly update?
A guest feature:
Jen is queen of Pinterest and writes two superb blogs one on interiors and one about style and Welllness for us 40+ ladies. Called Style Brief it is well worth a follow, especially as I was privileged to be invited by Jen to feature in her Style Spotlight series do have a peep!
Hobbies:
Crochet
I have rediscovered my love of crochet and have completed 3 projects since the start of the year. Crochet brings me calm and joy. The sense of achievement and pride I feel on completion of a project is hard to describe, unless you make things yourself.
I have been blogging less and I have taken more time off ‘to be me’

My latest work in progress
Sewing.
My creative spirit along with the sunshine is much stronger in Spring and I am going to start sewing again. I am sure it is no coincidence, considering The Great British Sewing Bee is back on the TV!

Family
Art Exhibitions.
Considering my teenage son will shortly be considering his university options, we are making the most of the school holidays by spending a day out together. London is our destination of choice, because of the all the Art galleries and wonderful exhibitions on this year. We have already seen the Don McCullin Photographic exhibition and are planning lots more soon. Next on my long list is the Tracey Emin ‘A fortnight of Tears’ show at White Cube
Boot fairs.
Marc and I are already very excited about the start of the Dorset Boot Fair Season. We have planned an early morning start for this weekend. It will be the first Sunday opening of our favourite and largest local Boot Fair!
I’ll let you know what we find very soon…
