Why I Wish I’d Started Taking Imedeen Skin Supplements In My 30’s

This post is a paid post written in Collaboration with Imedeen and is considered as an AD

I have always looked after my skin, as I’m sure most of you have. Since the age of 13 I have been a skincare addict and probably used far more products than I actually needed at such a young age! Skin supplements however, passed me by. I didn’t catch on to them until far later in my adult life. Imedeen have always been the skincare supplements that I was most aware of, but why oh why has it taken me until now, in my mid 50’s to start taking supplements seriously?

Why I Wish I'd Started Taking Imedeen Skin Supplements In My 30's

[perfectpullquote align=”full” bordertop=”false” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]I have taken supplements in the past, but my big mistake was not taking them for long enough![/perfectpullquote]

My aging skin symptoms:

I am sure you do not need an extensive list , at 55 these were my main skincare issues:

  • Dryness, especially around my eyes.
  • Lack of vitality, my skin was very dull.
  • Small wrinkle and fine lines due to the dryness.
  • Itching and flaking skin, made worse by the winter weather and central heating.

[bctt tweet=”What I had not fully understood is that as we age, especially when experience menopause, our skin has different needs.  What passed as a simple but effective skin care regime in my thirties is no longer relevant in my fifties! ” username=”lazydaisyjones”]

My skin care regime to date:

Reasonable diet, I’m a ‘snacker’ but love a big breakfast!

I wear very little make-up, none at all when at home during the week, but when we go out I use a concealer, mascara blush and a nude lipstick. I use serums, moisturisers and eye creams all the time and love a good facial oil at night.

Now however, I also take Imedeen Prime Renewal everyday and will continue to do so even though my 90 day trial review has finished. Yes in the future I intend to buy and stock up on this amazing skin supplement! Read on to find out why…

Why I Wish I'd Started Taking Imedeen Skin Supplements In My 30's

Radiant Skin from Within in as little as 90 Days

Beauty starts from within, you are what you eat, yes I am sure you have heard them all? As clichés go those are good ones and like most clichés they are also true!

What I had not fully understood is that as we age, especially when experience menopause, our skin has different needs.  What passed as a simple but effective skin care regime in my thirties is no longer relevant in my fifties! I also now need more nutrients, minerals and vitamins to replace those that my lack of hormones are depleting.

When Imedeen offered me the chance of a 90 day review of their new skin supplement Prime Renewal, I was delighted, curious and I must admit more than a little skeptical, could a skin supplement improve my 55 year old skin?

Oestrogen loss in our fifties:

I wont get too technical,  but as we reach our 50’s, the oestrogen we lose is responsible for the loss of our skins ability to produce collegen. Collegen is the protein that keeps our skin strong and supple. Did you know skin can lose up to 30% of its collagen in the first 5 years of menopause?

[perfectpullquote align=”full” bordertop=”false” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]Imedeen Prime renewal is especially formulated for the challenges our skin faces in our 50’s.[/perfectpullquote]

Why I Wish I'd Started Taking Imedeen Skin Supplements In My 30's

Imedeen Prime renewal The results:

You take two tablets in the morning and two in the evening. Box contains some handy packages, 1 per day each marked day and night, or moon and sun.  I took 2 with my breakfast and 2 before i went to bed simple.

After 30 days:

This is when I realised I had made a huge mistake with my previous experience of taking supplements. It takes time. Imedeen advise at least 90 days or 3 boxes, before you see the full results. I can report they are right after 30 days I can honestly say there was no difference that I could see?

[perfectpullquote align=”full” bordertop=”false” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]…take two tablets in the morning and two in the evening.[/perfectpullquote]

After 60 Days:

Big changes, my skin was softer and not just on my face! The tops of my arms, my bum (shhhh) even my neck and chest felt smooth and softer than before. Keep in mind that this was now November, the season of frosty mornings, central heating and rapid temperature drops. My skin is usually red in patches, feels sensitive and my lips are chapped but not this year!

Imedeen Prime renewal is especially formulated for the challenges our skin faces in our 50's.

[bctt tweet=”…after 60 days of taking Imedeen Prime Renewal I noticed major changes, my skin was softer and not just on my face! The tops of my arms, my bum (shhhh) even my neck and chest felt smooth and softer than before. ” username=”lazydaisyjones”]

After 90 days:

Huge difference… people were saying I looked well, I was even told I had lovely skin by an unknown but lovely lady whilst I was queuing in Tesco’s. My skin feels soft and dewy (yep really!) and the lines around my eyes have softened considerably…

My skin only usually feels like this whilst on holiday somewhere humid!

Why I Wish I'd Started Taking Imedeen Skin Supplements In My 30's

The Reveal:

See for yourself… by the way I think I’m being very brave showing you this pic:

The image below is a of me with at 55 ,with no make-up on at all, you can even see my age spots! (how I wish there was a supplement for those!) So just me barefaced wearing moisturiser having been taking Imedeen prime renewal for 90 days.

This is where I have noticed the biggest difference around my eyes, of course I still have lines, but they are softer and less visible, as if my skin has regained some firmness. I will continuing to take Imedeen Prime Renewal on a daily basis and will be buying it for myself in future !

At 55, with absolutely no makeup on at all (note my age spots) My skin is softer and wrinkles and fine lines diminished!

[perfectpullquote align=”full” bordertop=”false” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]I will continuing to take Imedeen Prime Renewal on a daily basis and will be buying it for myself in future ! [/perfectpullquote]

Imedeen Prime Renewal My Verdict:

It works! My skin feels softer (not just on my face either, all over!) and small lines and wrinkles have diminished. However, do give it time at least 90 days. Like I said in the title I wish I had taken skin supplements in my 30’s but as that was 25 years ago I’m quite sure that supplement weren’t as good as they are now?

Hello February! Happy as Larry with an armful of new fabric, bargain priced fabric, those lace fabrics were £1 pm 😳From local store @hansonsfabricsandcrafts Day made 🙌🏻
.
Big hello to new followers , let me reintroduce myself . . . I’m Ashley 👋🏻 a fabric and yarn obsessed midlife ‘gal’
Former air stewardess, costume maker and retail store manager.
An empty nester with son at University, (he’s not too far away 😭) I feathered a new nest with 2 cats who live happily with our two dogs.
My partner and I are keen on restoring pre loved vintage items of furniture lighting etc into unique pieces for our home. He does the hard work I draw the sketches and point at things.
I post about my handmade life, sewing and crochet projects, our home restorations and occasionally the clothes and beauty products I wear and use as a midlife woman .
I find it very hard to be niche as I have too much to say!
I have also been writing my blog Lazy Daisy Jones (link in bio) for almost 10 years.
I very much enjoy connecting with other midlife girls on insta and proving it’s not just for the under 30’s .
Leave me a comment if you are over 35 and any of this resonates with you Hellooooo x
