Vintage Laura Ashley Jacket Swanage Beach in January!
Vintage Laura Ashley is one of my favourite things to source and collect, anything pre- 1980’s and I am happy. I have 3 highly collectible ‘prairie style’ dresses from the 70’s, some glorious cotton fabric and even some paper patterns, that I keep telling myself I must make something from this summer. I also have a few very wearable items such as this vintage Laura Ashley Tweed jacket…
Vintage Laura Ashley Pure Wool late 80’s Jacket
I know this is mid to late 1980’s because I owned a very similar navy ‘riding jacket’ from the same collection. I used to wear it with cowboy boots and a big black velvet ‘Fergie bow’ in my hair. Those were the days? Did you know those ‘Fergie clip-in bows are back in a big way this year!

Vintage Laura Ashley, its all in the details:
Vintage clothing particularly Laura Ashley garments are of a very high quality with perfectly finished details. This jacket is fully lined, beautiful tailored and still has everyone of its original buttons in place! The fabric is a pure wool tweed and made in England (where else?)
First Vintage style post for 2019.
So for my first Vintage style post of 2019 I thought I would wear my tweed jacket down to the beach and share it with you.
Marc and I grabbed the dogs and decided to visit Swanage, a mere half an hours drive from where we live. This pretty seaside down has its own heritage steam railway. We came to know it well when my son was younger as he was and still is a steam engine fan. Peep Peep!
Now we visit for the fresh air and the countryside pubs on the way back. In winter the dogs are able to run free on the beach and they love it…

The weather was mild and I was glad I had not chosen to wear my heavy coat. My vintage Laura Ashley jacket was perfect for the mild temperature and went well with my walking boots. Those boots kept my feet dry even when a big wave splashed over them!
A Vintage Scarf
A vintage scarf brightens every outfit as I’m sure you will agree? You already know that I also have a large vintage scarf collection. I prefer the silk ones, and am lucky to have 4 beautiful vintage Liberty printed silk scarves amongst my collection. The one I am wearing is silk and very warm, but it is not Liberty…
