Five Decades on 5 things I would tell my younger self
Five decades! There has to be an exclamation mark after those two little words. I have now spent over half a century on our beautiful planet, I am grateful for everyday the good and the bad. I wouldn’t want it any other way. How about you?
So when Lumity life sent me some day and night anti aging supplements and asked me to write about what life lessons I would tell my younger self I agreed.
Not only have I heard great reviews about the supplements themselves, but I also thought it would be a good exercise to look back and review the past five decades of my life. To put them in perspective and prepare to greet the next five, hopefully?
Five decades:
The first 10 years.
As I approach my mid fifties and look back over the years (something I have learnt not to do, preferring to always look forward never back) Imagining and remembering my younger self and wish I could tell her a few things to help her on her way…
I would tell my 10 year old Donny Osmond loving, gangling self ‘You are beautiful, you are clever and you are kind’ To think I thought myself ugly stupid and selfish. I wasn’t I was just a 10 year old little girl, adjusting to a very bumpy time in her life…

My second decade, those amazing 20’s
At 21, I was flying around the world, falling in love and either breaking hearts or getting my own broken.
To that fantastically brave and adventurous girl I would say “go for it, enjoy every second and dont take it all so seriously, it will be gone in a flash”

A third decade: settling down in my thirties.
At 32 I bought my own flat in Brighton. Met my future husband and began the ‘grown up’ phase! To that hard working woman. I would say ” You are on the right track and doing brilliantly keep going, I am so proud of your independant achievements”

The fourth one was a rocky road.
For various personal reasons, good and bad, losing grandparents, having children etc. My early forties were hard. To that woman I would say what my Mum always says “This will pass and you will be happier than you have ever been in your life very soon, hang in there girl”

My fifth and present decade.
My fifties have been marvelous, what can I say? That I am happier and more confident in myself and my abilities than ever before. I have a wonderful life, however it wasn’t handed to me on a plate, I worked for everything in it.
My only worries are the health problems that come with ageing. Advice to myself would be “look after every aspect of your health, get out and exercise more, eat healthily” and perhaps take the occasional health supplements to help with this”

Lumity life
With my own sensible advice ringing in my ears, I have been taking Lumity life’s best selling natural day and night anti ageing supplements
You take 2 in the morning and 2 at night. It’s too early to say if they have helped with my skin hair or nails. I have been taking them over a week and my energy levels are definitely up, so that is a bonus. I have a months supply so I will report back with any updates…
What would you say to your younger self? With five decades of life behind me I found it an interesting and valuable exercise…try it for yourself, write down 5 things you would say to your younger self.
This is what my Mum has to say on the subject of aging…
