June 2018 was a hot one! If you live in the UK you will probably know by now that it was the hottest June ever! So how did you keep cool last month? I tried to remember to drink more water to keep hydrated, plus I chose to dress in anything loose, made from cotton or linen.

Me playing the tourist at the tower of London!
My June 2018
Thing One: A Date Night.
If you are a regular reader of LDJ you may remember me writing about the lobster top I wore when Marc and I went out on a grown up date night?
Here are couple of ‘never seen before’ (ha!) pics from that post for you. he’s going to laugh when he sees this!
Marc acts as a stand in for me whilst I check the light settings, I have lots of pics of him looking extremely bored whilst he waits patiently for me to set the camera up…gotta love that man!

Thing Two Clairol Nice’N Easy London Event.
At the beginning of the month I travelled up to London, to attend a super blogging event held in a townhouse in Soho. It was hosted by Clairol to promote the new formula Nice’N Easy hair colours. I met up with Catherine from Not Dressed as Lamb we spent a lovely afternoon, sipping cocktails, eating cakes and making a neon sign that spelt out ‘fearless’ as in Clairol’s hashtag ‘#colour fearlessly’
We were also lucky to have our hair colour matched by celebrity hairdresser Michael Douglas. He is the resident hairdresser for BBC1’s ‘The One Show and is also Davina Mccall’s hairdresser amongst other things.
(Excuse the grainy pics, these are all from quick phone snaps)
Thing three: Gardening & Banksy
We finished our latest garden project in perfect time to be able to sit and enjoy it.
We finally have a new lower patio area complete with garden shed. So lately I have been spending my spare time dreaming up some fun features to make the shed look cool, we added a Banksy style ‘rage flower thrower’ graffiti stencil at the weekend:
Thing Four: My Boy Finished school!
[perfectpullquote align=”full” bordertop=”false” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]I shed a few tears and told him how very proud I am[/perfectpullquote]
Im sure all UK Mums of yr 11 teenagers looked back at their ‘first day of school photos’ and said the same as we did “Oh my that went by so fast?” I was excited and sad all at the same time, I shed a few tears and then told him how very proud I am, at the way he has grown into such a fine, kind and talented young man…
Thing Five A City Break in London:
I love city breaks dont you? Quick and easy with not too much travelling time (in this case an hour and half on the train ) Marc and I even got to do something we had not done before… visit the tower of London! read more about our trip and what we did in this post.
We stayed at one of my favourite Hotels, Citizen M is right by the Tower of London. I can highly recommend it. Style on a budget, in the centre of London, with delicious breakfast and a superb bar with a view of the tower.
Here we are messing around with shooting into the mirrors in the bar!
So how was June 2018 for you? More importantly how are you coping with the heat in July?
