Where Did You Get That Basket Bag?

For the last few weeks I have been using a straw basket bag with leather handles as my handbag. It has appeared by my side, or on my shoulder in numerous recent photos. Handmade and woven from palm leaves I love it…

However this little bag that I adore, has stolen my thunder, diverting attention away from what I was wearing. My straw bag is always the centre of attention and I hear the same question over and over again…

Especially when the object in question was bought for a few pounds (approx £3.50) and yet the same bag can be found in all the ‘posh’ shops for over £50 pounds.[/perfectpullquote]

Attach a vintage Liberty silk scarf to it and it looks like a milion dollars!

That Basket Bag

The bag in question was bought last October whilst I was in Marrakech. I knew it would come in handy for the summer and I liked the fact that it had leather shoulder straps and wasn’t too big.

Baskets are of course a summer classic and I own a few of them. But this one is special. I tried searching for similar but the ones like this are surprisingly expensive. Anthropologie have a lovely one with a printed monogram and a scarf, but it is £80 pounds!

SO I found some lovely Topshop ones for you…

In my opinion, Top shop have the best basket bags at the moment:

Whilst browsing in the Oxford Circus branch of Top shop recently, I was pleasantly suprised at the quality, the prices and the range available. There was also more in the store than online from what I could see.

So I picked out a few for you…

All available from Topshop and all under £30 pounds.

They have some lovely straw hats too. I’m very tempted to buy one for when I’m pottering around in the garden. What do you think?
