Nude Lipsticks & New Makeup Tools Reviewed

Nude lipsticks are the makeup products I wear the most. Even if I am wearing no makeup at all, but have to pop out to do some chores. I will grab a nude lipstick, apply it without looking and feel ready to face the world!

I use them like lip balms, I have one on the kitchen windowsill, a couple in my handbag and one in the car. Unlike a red lippy the nudes are easy to apply and give an instant polished look.

So many Nude lipsticks where to start?

The questions and the choices are endless. Do you want a natural rose or a true nude beige? Are you hoping for an exact match to your lip colour or do you want to go lighter or darker? What type of finish do you fancy? ie a glossy shine, satin or even flat matte. Oh my goodness where to start!

The only answer I have found is trial and error. I have a few tips but no magic formulas to offer.

From Experience may I suggest that…

If you find one you like go back and buy another one! The cheaper brands often have seasonal colours and your new fave may be withdrawn!

shop online, I like ‘Boots’ for this, write down 3 or 4 colours that take your fancy. The next time you are shopping in in store grab your list and test a few out.

Read the beauty section of the Sunday papers or the magazines in the hairdresser, use your phone to snap a pic of any new suggestions that take your fancy. Again next time you are shopping, consult your phone and test , test, test I do this with perfume all the time, because I always forget the names. (it’s an age thing!)

Try and test on your lips not your hand. Lipsticks can lighten and brighten your face but not your hand!

Ask the makeup lady for a tissue and wipe the top of the testers. He/she will often invite you to try it, say yes you never know, you may find the nude lipstick equivalent of the love of your life!

New Makeup Tools by Masqd.

I was sent two sets of lovely new MASQD Makeup tools, one for Nails and a set of 4 tweezers.

Masqd Tweezer Set: £10.00

I think that is a fab price for this set!

These days I lose tweezers all over the place (a bit like my glasses) So these are very handy. Each tweezer is useful for different ‘tweezing needs’ ie short hair, long hair, hard to get hairs! Its a very good set and the tweezers actually do the job they are designed for too.

Masqd Nail Set: £18.00

I like manicure sets for my feet. To me a good looking set of toes means summer is here. Summer is pedicure season. This set even has a little brush, I am using this to apply my cuticle remover, very handy.

Both available from Masqd at Boots
