Lately 5 Things I got Up To In April 2018
April 2018 is usually a superb month for me because it has a long school holiday in it. Which means I get to spend some time with my boy. I call him ‘my boy’ but at 16 he is turning into the most amazing young man. My heart bursts with pride whenever I see him.

April 2018
Therefore, two of the lovely things I got up to in April involve me and him, Mother and son, hanging out having fun together. These are my favourite days.
However, April 2018 was also a bittersweet month and does have a sad story to tell too. These posts are my journal posts and I can’t just include the good times without the sad. Life just isn’t like that is it? It’s a fine balance, the sadness makes you appreciate the good times even more right?
Thing One:
Cinema
My boy and I went to the movies together. We have a lovely local cinema about 25 minutes drive from where we live. We love to do this when we have some time, the only problem is finding a film we both want to watch! For this visit we settled on “Ready Player One” a Steven Spielberg film which we both thoroughly enjoyed.
Thing Two:
London
The very next day we both hopped on the train to london to visit the Tate Britain Art Gallery. Tate Britain, sits majestically beside the Thames.A classic and very beautiful building in its own right. We both wanted to see the French Impressionist exhibition.
The paintings were eye poppingly gorgeous, they took our breath away and for once my boy was quiet! Paintings that you have grown up seeing in print, or on the television, are so awe inspiring when you see them in real life.

Thing Three:
In the Press
Very proud of this one! Lazy Daisy Jones and I were featured in Woman and Home Magazine as one of 50 over 50 amazing women !
Have you seen my press page recently? I am in the process of updating it there is so much more to add to it…
Thing Four:
A sad choice
On friday the 13th, we made the saddest and the hardest choice ever. We had our very poorly pussy cat put to sleep. I cried for days and I miss her very much. Even writing this 3 weeks later brings tears to my eyes. She was a wonderful companion and one of the sweetest natured cats I have ever had the honour to share my home with…
Thing Five:
A Best Blogger friend
I met my dearest friend Laurie from Vanity and me style Blog in London. We visited a couple of press shows, walked and talked (a lot) and drank Tea in cafes of the beautiful back streets of west London.
Those are lovely days aren’t they? When you are with a friend, the hours speed by and you still haven’t had time to say all the things you wanted to say by the end of the day! So you end up on the phone the next day to finish the conversation.
