What does Sunday mean to you? I think Sundays for all of us have changed over the years. So as I share my newly purchased dress, along with my Vionic shoes, stroll along with me and let’s chat about Sundays past and present…
What do Sundays mean to you?
Are you old enough to remember when every single shop was shut on a Sunday? I am, as a child I remember you had to make sure you shopped for the whole weekend. Sundays were the day when all your family were in one place, ie at home! Sunday really did mean a Roast eaten with everyone around the table.

The Sundays of my Past
As I became a teenager they became boring for this very reason. I wanted to be with my friends, not my family, there was ‘nothing to do’ Mum always suggested homework as an option! In the evening ‘Sing something Simple’ was on the radio and ‘Songs of Praise’ was on the TV. Sunday tea consisted of a salad with ham, followed by tinned peaches with evaporated milk.

We had days out all of us together, trips to the beach, picnics in the new forest and if we were lucky a cream tea on the way back.
Of course now I look back on these times with the fondest of memories, but at the time? No, I didn’t ever want to go! I remember bickering with my brother in the back of a hot car, sulking when I had to do something I didn’t want to do like wear my PE shorts on a hot day out (oh the horror) Come to think of it I have a life long dislike of shorts and rarely wear them in public!

A Sunday Stroll in my New Dress and Vionic Shoes
Today I am returning to the way we spent those days. I have declared Sunday to be a Social Media free day. If everyone is home safe then leave my phone on charge in my office upstairs.
Boot fair have come to mean a family morning out, there are bacon sarnies and treasures to be discussed. We eat our main meal together, usually in the evening, whilst discussing the events of the past week.
If I had my nearest and dearest family members near, I would spend it with them too. Unfortunately, like most modern families, we are scattered in the wind, with many miles between us…
Yesterday we took a stroll along our local river, the Stour. We paused for pics and ended up at the pub, a traditional English Sunday pastime!
What I was Wearing, Shopping Details:
Vionic Shoes: This is the Adeline they come in black and Navy too. A beautiful pair of soft tan leather mules, that literally made me feel I was walking on air.
Vionic shoes are so versatile I could wear this pair with anything in my wardrobe. Plus I dont have to choose style over comfort as vionic shoes give me both!
Basket Bag: I bought this one in Marrakech, whilst on vacation last year…
