Lately 5 things I got up to in February 2018
February 2018 could be called a wipeout! I will be hard pushed to find some things we actually achieved. Read on for the second instalment of my monthly Diary post…
After arriving back from Florida I had a severe case of Jet lag and the winter blues. The older I get the more I crave the light, the warmth and the blue skies of spring and Summer. I am sure I am not alone in this?

[perfectpullquote align=”full” bordertop=”false” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””] Anyway enough of the ‘woe is me’ attitude after all you only get jet lag if you are lucky to have been away for a couple of weeks…right? [/perfectpullquote]
Whilst recovering from flu and feeling low, I spent time on the sofa watching Grey’s Anatomy box sets. I have to admit to feeling very sorry for myself. I even had to back out of a super blog event that I was very much looking forward too.
Anyway enough of the ‘woe is me’ attitude. I will try to be positive, after all you only get jet lag if you are lucky enough to have been away for a couple of weeks…right?
All the positive things that made me happy in February 2018.
Thing One:
Marc and I entered our first pub quiz, not only that, we won a prize too! It was such a lot of fun and we took the dogs with us. The pub is a approx 1 mile away so it’s a perfect walk after a meal and a few drinks.
Bonus that our local pub is pink (and very instagrammable too) Here’s one I took last year, and yes in answer to your question, that’s my bike outside!
Lots of Dorset buildings are thatched, this is a Pub we visit when we go to the beach. How pretty is this one?
Thing Two:
I started crocheting again. For a long time and for a number of reasons, I have not felt inspired to crochet. But February, along with the grey skies, brought me some welcome inspiration…
I found it in the form of this cushion cover, pattern from Ingrid at Wood Wool Stool. You may remember I joined her crochet retreat in Morocco last October?
A loop stitch cushion cover: this is my version…
Ingrid’s Patterns are available from Etsy
Thing Three:
This one was very overdue. I had a hair makeover.
My balayage lighter ends were cut off, some long layers put in and my colour freshened up all over. So what do you think?
I can tell you that after having a few ‘off’ weeks this hair appointment made me feel very good indeed!
Thing Four:
February means Valentines day, although I dont believe in celebrating love on just one day of the year. Marc and I prefer to celebrate it everyday, it’s those little things. We did manage an evening to ourselves and enjoyed an early supper in Salisbury.
An historic Cathedral City that is filled with the most wonderful buildings and well worth a visit.
Thing Five:
In February 2018 I spent a lot of my time in my home office, answering emails and creating content for Lazy Daisy Jones. I often get distracted and fiddle with the shelves…
Do you know that green mug is over one hundred years old. It was the first ‘collectible’ I bought for myself when I was a teenager. We were on holiday in devon, during the 70’s and I’ve had it ever since. The inscription reads ‘Man was made of clay for woman to mould’ I love that dont you?
