Lately 5 Things I got up to in January 2018

January 2018 ran away from me. I can’t believe we are already knee deep in February.Last week I was answering some interview questions for a magazine. One of the questions was ‘why did you start writing a blog?’  It made me remember that I started this blog as an online journal. As a way to record what I had been doing and making. It also connected me to other like minded folk.

Therefore, I hope you will forgive me but for purely selfish reasons, I am going back to my roots.

Lazy daisy Jones has evolved…

Fast forward 5 years, my blog and my life have evolved together into the Lazy Daisy Jones blog you read today. Now I write about my whole life and not just one part of it. However, I miss the ‘diary’ aspect of it.

Therefore,  I hope you will forgive me but for purely selfish reasons, I am going back to my roots. I am going to write a monthly post on the 5 things that my family and I got up to in the previous month. A bit like a ‘behind the scenes’ look?

5 Things, January 2018

Thing One:

I took advantage of some cheap flights and booked a trip for Marc and I to visit Florida to see my Mum.  Marc is very handy to have around the house and spent some time ‘fixing’ things for Mum. He even managed to paint her front door a beautiful new blue…I forgot the name but the paint was by Valspar

In return Mum fed us, took us shopping and drove us anywhere we wanted to go! We had a super time…it was lovely to get away from the grey skies of the UK.

I will write a few more words about this lovely trip soon because Orlando is not just about Disney you know!

Didn’t he do a lovely job?

Thing Two:

Before I went I was invited to dine with Trinny Woodall and her new Trinny london team, as part of introducing Trinny’s fabulous new range of makeup that stacks up… I took it to florida and photographed it by the pool.

Thing Three:

We have a new puppy called Murphy! He is a shih-tzu and we are all in love with him. He is a little imp…Our other Shih tzu is fascinated with him and they keep each other amused all day. They are very funny together and are fast becoming the best of friends.

Thing Four:

I managed to fit in a trip to London to stay with my best blogger pal, Laurie from Vanity and me style.

We had great fun taking pics of each other and we intend to do it again very soon when the weather is warmer! Ive said this before and I’ll say it again, it is so lovely to have a blogger pal to who truly ‘gets’ this funny blog life…

Thing Five:

The weather finally became milder and brighter, so we actually ventured out for a couple of country walks… Signs of Spring perhaps?

I like your five things and that blue door is perfection. One of my five things last month was reading Ephesians in Women’s Bible study at church.
