I am a bit of a ‘Bah Humbug’ girl when it comes to Valentine’s Day. I feel we should show our love and appreciation to our loved ones everyday, not just on one commercialised, pre planned occasion. Therefore, I prefer to plan ahead for Mother’s Day.
Celebrating Mother’s Day
I am aware that not everyone is lucky enough to have, or be near their Mums on this special day. My own Mum will be in Florida but we will raise a glass to her and have a chat via face time! If this is also the case for you then perhaps you will celebrate this day in your own special way I am sure your loved one will be in your memories and always in your hearts?
Mother’s Day has an important message for us all. It is the day we give thanks to our Mothers, for bringing us into the world and steering us in the right direction. From a baby to a toddler then on to being a teenager and finally helping us launch into the big wide world of adulthood.
I will forever treasure the memory of celebrating my first Mother’s Day. My son was only 6 months old. So on his behalf I was given a handmade Sussex Trug that I still use in the garden every year. It will be 16 years old this year!
