When I finally grow up I want to look like my Mum. Here she is at 76 what a beauty eh? I am fascinated with how some people age more than others. Is it genes is it age or is it simply being able to handle what life throws at you and then chucking it right back?

My Mum’s top 5 tips on staying young at heart.
I asked her recently what her secret is and how does she stay not only young at heart but young in looks too? Here then are her top 5 tips for surviving life and looking fab in her mid 70’s and beyond…
1. On Beauty:
[perfectpullquote align=”full” bordertop=”false” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]Moisturise, moisturise, moisturise and drink lots of water…[/perfectpullquote]
My Mum uses whatever moisturiser takes her eye either from the supermarket or the stores ‘nothing special’ she says. She also advocates protecting your face from the sun.
2. On Style
[perfectpullquote align=”full” bordertop=”false” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]Keep it simple, make sure you are comfortable and use accessories to add a little sparkle.[/perfectpullquote]
My mum always wears earrings when she goes out and still loves to wear her jeans and t-shirts, and why not? , they suit her down to the ground and she looks great in them!
3. On life
Having had more than her fair share of tragedy and disappointments during her 76 years my Mums advice is simple…
[perfectpullquote align=”full” bordertop=”false” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]Treasure your friends[/perfectpullquote]
Her favourite saying when life gets tough is ‘this too shall pass‘ something I always try to remember.
4. On Healthy Eating.
My Mum enjoys her food and has never counted a calorie in her life. she says…
[perfectpullquote align=”full” bordertop=”false” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]Eat whatever you want, in moderation[/perfectpullquote]
5. On Attitude:
[perfectpullquote align=”full” bordertop=”false” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]Enjoy what you have now, don’t pine for the past or look too far into the future…[/perfectpullquote]
I guess she is saying what we all know to be true, live in the moment while you can and appreciate all the little joys?
Mum’s top is by Vince Camuto she bought it from Dillards a dept store in the US.
Thanks Mum you are simply the best and we love you very much!
