Where to find Crochet Inspiration for your Next Project

Crochet inspiration, so where do you find yours?

Imagine the scene… Finally that crochet project you have been working on every evening is finished. Lets assume it was a blanket? As you expertly hooked the stitches and added the colours it helped you occupy those cold autumn/winter evenings and kept you warm in the process. You tenderly hand washed it, you blocked it and you proudly photographed it for you Instagram account. Family and friends the world over have admired it. The Blanket sits beside you now as you ponder your next project…

Sound familiar to all you crocheters?

My library of Crochet books

After I have completed a large project I like to hook up a smaller project. So the first place I turn to is my own rather large collection of crochet books.

I have written and blogged about a few crochet book reviews here, if fancy a new book?

My wip basket

Usually full and usually dull, but occasionally it may throw up some inspo…

Instagram Friends:

I search out my crochet idols and have a ‘nose’ around their accounts to see if anything catches my eye. Sometimes there are trends on instagram and you will see everyone making the same thing!

Etsy UK

Next I will head over to Etsy Uk and type in a search for ‘crochet patterns’ then I will narrow the search depending on what comes up. I love Lalylala patterns and if all else fails I will make up a cute critter for my niece!

Ravelry

A superb knit and crochet community, plus an oasis of inspiration. Be warned it is very easy to get lost in there, so put the kettle on first! I love a good Ravelry search for a new project

More Ideas

How about your local library? I must admit mine is rubbish for crochet books. Or charity shops, lovely to find vintage books from your childhood. Then of course there are blogs, and Pinterest and Facebook groups the list goes on…

…and dont forget Magazines of which I have one or two!
