Mules are the summer shoe style for 2017, so do you fancy kicking back, in a pair of mules this Summer…?
Low kitten, or high stacked heel, leather peep toe, or satin with a bow on top, casual or smart it really doesn’t matter how they are styled if it’s a mule.
What is a Mule?
“…Mule, a French word, is a style of shoe that is backless and often closed-toed. Mules can be any heel height – from flat to high. The style is predominantly (but not exclusively) worn by women.”
A Tip when you buy:
Now I know it is sometimes difficult to walk in mules as they can slip off very easily. The trick to keeping a pair of mules on your feet is to make sure the front part of the shoe comes high up on your foot, and that the heel height is at a comfortable balance for you. Simply taking a few steps in the shoe shop and thinking all is well may be your downfall, walk around the shop twice to truly test a good walking mule!
If this proportion is not right, it will be almost impossible to walk (let alone run?) in a pair of summer mules.
Always choose leather over synthetic if you have a choice. It is kinder to your feet and the shoes will last so much longer.
The summer shoe style, for 2017
Armed with this fashion info I looked through my wardrobe to see if I had anything that fitted into this look. I found 6 styles some old and some new…
These are my favourite 5. They are the pairs I will brush up and wear for Summer 2017. I love it when a fashion trend hits and you find yourself ahead of the game with items already in your wardrobe, dont you?
Gold, gold and more gold!
The pair above and on the right below are leather from JD Williams, they are soo soft and very comfy, due to their padded sole. You can see me wearing them in this post. The other gold pair on the left are from Mango (not leather, but a snip at £19) The pretty pair in the middle I have had for years, they are from Paul Smith.
The velvet pair I am wearing below, are from L K Bennett, the other pair are also velvet and are an old pair of from Boden.
…so now go and check to see what is in your wardrobe?
