Crochet Goals May What’s on my Hook?

Crochet Goals.

I now write myself a small (!) list of crochet projects I would like to finish for the month. I try to keep it achievable, so this month I would be happy just to finish one of these three…

Last month I started one, completed one and have two that are still works in progress.

Crochet Goals for May

First on my list for May, is this sparkly summer wrap in a c2c stitch. I intend to change the edge of this pattern as I don’t like the star and mini pom-pom version. Now I have a new edging book I will choose a new pattern for each end. However, I do like the colours especially the twinkly bits. Pale lilac and silver-grey go very well together, I think do you agree?

More details on this project can be found here

Second on my list

…is another wrap. This will be perfect for a fresh summer evening after a day on the beach. Made from Luma yarn from The Fibre Company. I have added a few rows to it this month but not as many as I would have liked. This month I am determined to finish it!

Parallel Bars Crochet Shawl:

The latest addition to my work in progress list is the ‘Parallel bars’ shawl designed by Sarah Shrimpton from Annaboos House. I had some pretty variegated yarn from Red Heart, unforgettable boutique that i wanted to use up. (I am using 2 x 100g DK balls.) I thought this project would be perfect.

Sarah’s pattern calls for 150g of sock yarn approx a 490m skein?

This is a deceptively simple pattern that is a joy to hook up and quickly results in a lacy triangular wrap.  I have no doubt it will be finished this month.

Finally Finished:

I am delighted to report that I actually completed a project last month. This candy coloured C2C blanket has been ticked off my wip list at last. The edging became part of the pattern and then had another edging added to it. It is now in regular use, is loved by us all and is presently residing on the sofa.

How do you organise your wips? Please do pass on any tips and handy hints, they will be much appreciated!
