Friends! A shout out to 3 bloggers & 3 crafters.
Friends, some are local, some are online, the older I become, the more I learn to cherish them.
However, these days I find the online. social community I love, appears to have become obsessed with numbers. They worry about how many likes, followers or subscribers they have, or don’t have or would like to have! I have been reading that some people have genuine concern and anxiety about their online stats and followers!
I do understand this, but perhaps it is because I am older I feel that life is too short for all this nonsense, especially when there are children dying from famine and poverty in a country that is only a few hours flight time away from the UK.
…life is too short for all of this nonsense
I am fed up with it pure and simple! I almost feel like I should apologise for even writing that!
There is an answer to this…
… it is called community, not the community of ‘pods or groups who still worry about their stats, but a genuine community based on friendship and not competition.
In this spirit I would like to introduce to you 3 of my fellow bloggers and 3 of my fellow crafters…
This is a shout out to my friends…3 bloggers
Three bloggers: All different, all hard working and all very clever. They have taught me so much and probably don’t even realise it. They have recommended my blog to others; they encourage and inspire me always. They are my friends. I call them Natasha, Lucy and Susan.
You will know them as:
- CandyPop.uk.com
- Lucylovesya.com
- Oldfashionedsusie.com
They each have a beautiful Instagram feed and even their own clever hashtags
Natasha is a fan of minimalism and writes calming common sense posts on how to live a simply but happy life.
Her hashtag is #simplewhiteliving
Lucy is a lover of colour in the home and everywhere else! Her instagram feed is uplifting and fresh. Lucy’s hastag is appropriately called: #inspirationiscolour
Susan has a unique bold style an ‘old fashioned vintage’ look so refreshing to see, when instagram can be full of imitations and vintage has become a byword for kitschy cute! One of Susan’s hash tags is #bretonloversunite find like minded striped t-shirt wearers connecting to celebrate their love of stripes…
A shout out to my friends…3 crafters
Three crafters; all talented artisans and crocheters. We don’t see each other very often, but when we do many yarn and crochet discussions commence. We hatch plans and bounce design ideas off each other. We learn new techniques and suggest solutions to complicated patterns. We laugh, they are my friends. I call them Chrissie, Sarah and Holly.
You will know them as:
* ChrissieCrafts
* AnnaboosHouse
They each have inspiring crochet and yarn Instagram feeds
Chrissie is a talented singer and an excellent needlewoman, her embroidery projects are amazing. Chrissie does no longer blogs, but has just started a regular vlog series!
Sarah from Annaboos house is a talented designer and Author. (I will be reviewing her latest book in May) She also shares her lovely patterns on her blog. Sarah’s ig feed is inspiring. I recently interviewed Sarah for my ‘back story’ feature
Holly has recently moved from london. She reminds me of superwoman, as in she is a talented multi tasker! Holly can knit, crochet, embroider, as well as working part time and she has a young family! Her ig feed is fresh and pretty and always cheerful!
I met all these incredible women, via the wonderful world of blogging and social media. I am proud to call them my friends.
To compete with them is something that would never, ever cross my mind!
Imagine then how much stronger we could all be and how much further we could go, if more people, who work in the same Industry, became genuine friends?
Bestest community wishes…
