A Laura Ashley S/S 17 Preview
I recently visited the Laura Ashley 2017 spring, summer preview…
January and February are the months I endure not enjoy. Whilst I do not want to wish time away, I cannot greet the grey days of Winter with open arms. Spring, Summer and Autumn oh yes, no problem. I fling the windows wide open and usher them in with a chorus of thanksgiving. I need light and colour to fill my creative world, and make it a happy place. I want to be like that girl in the picture above, strolling through the fields with sunshine in her hair…
My answer as always is to ‘think happy thoughts’ For me that means planning for the brighter, warmer days ahead and shopping or even ‘just looking’ makes me happy. How about you?
I recently visited the Laura Ashley HQ in London. I was there to view their Spring Summer 2017 collections. On arriving at the entrance , this is the sight that greeted us! just look at those flowers. they were spectacular, especially on a grey London afternoon.
As a child of the seventies I feel I have grown up with Laura Ashley. I wore frills and lace the first time around (shhhhh) and even visiting the Laura Ashley Exhibition in Bath three years ago brought back sweet memories! However I will admit to having not shopped in Laura Ashley for awhile.
Why? it all appeared to be too old, too ‘classic’ even a little frumpy!
Be warned! All that is about to change, the Laura Ashley S/S17 fashion collection is borrowing from the archives. I viewed a range of gorgeous and oh so stylish, shapes, fabrics and colours. I for one will be first in the queue when that beautiful new stock is delivered into my local store!
Lets take a look at some of my personal favourites…
I love. love this Blouse!
I would wear it with either my own jeans or these Laura Ashley navy corduroy Dungarees.
These two denim tunic dresses I would probably live in, bet you would too? There are pockets too and I love pockets!!
These four Blouses, all so pretty, all with a nod to the past. The top two I would wear with wide linen trousers in summer, and bottom two would brighten up my jeans any day…
This Blue print dress, So pretty and fresh.
This lace maxi and I were meant to be together, I am in love!
…and finally this bag to go with everything next summer!
There was lots more to see I will show you the home collection in another post.
I find it inspiring to see spring and summer clothes in winter, it reminds me that the dreary days of winter do not last forever. Spring will be here soon and that is a comfort to me.
So what do you think of my choices?
With thanks to Laura Ashley for inviting me to view the Spring Summer 2017 Collections.
bestest wishes!
