October in the press: so do you think a post such as this, is termed as bragging or is it just me being proud?
I try very hard not to come across as a bragger, but I am so proud (and excited) whenever I see myself, or something I have made in the press. I am sure you would be too? As an added bonus, it is also a sure fire way for your teenage kids to regards you as cool.
You heard it here first!
My proud in the press October number 1:
I designed a project for Inside Crochet. Issue 83 out now!
A huge, chunky, storage basket, which by the way is already full of yarn! It is hooked using the tapestry crochet method. However as I used a super chunky yarn, I did not carry the yarn along as I worked, preferring to drop it and pick it up on the way back. I even made a chart! I’m feeling very grown up today.
October proud press moment number 2:
We live in Dorset and our local free advertising magazine is called ‘The Blackmore Vale’. I hardly ever read it, I just glance through it most weeks. So how surprised was I to receive a text from my son, (who heard it from a friend) telling me I had two pages to myself in it?
This interview was written at the beginning of the year when my Simplicity pattern was published, it was then published online the website of the mag and I forgot all about it! Therefore it was a lovely suprise for us all. lots of people came up to me and said they had seen it.
October proud press moment number 3:
If you sew you may already know that my sewing room has been featured in the press before. The most popular piece of furniture in the room is my turquoise filing cabinet…
Marc restored and painted it for me as a Christmas present one year. He restores cars, so it is a very professional paint job! He recently did the same to the mini version in grey, that sits beside it…
It is now well on the way to becoming a celebrity in its own right and has had a little mention in ‘Sewing world’ magazine, courtesy of Kerry Green who writes a monthly column and has a lovely blog of her own.
I would never have guessed that starting a blog four years ago, would lead to me reading about our house, my projects and even myself in magazines and the local press. What ever next?
Braggingly yours
