In the Press October Our Home

The most exciting ‘In the Press’ blog post of my year so far. Our home was professionally photographed and is in
the press in October Home Style magazine this month!

October issue Home Style magazine:

There is even a little glimpse of our kitchen on the front page…

Marc was the first one to spot this in our local Tesco’s. He was so excited he came home with a bag of shopping, four copies of the magazine and a huge smile on his face. Here is a little peep:

View of the stairs from the kitchen:

The dog sitting in a chair in the big sitting room, and a view of the little sitting room with that Ercol couch again…

My arm and some of the colourful shelves in the kitchen…that shelf filled with everything Anthropologie is my fave!

(Btw. those orla kiely coffee jars are usually hidden away)

The corner of the conservatory, can you tell its one of my crochet corners? With a glimpse of our bedroom and my lit up winter shoe cupboard…

It took almost a week to make our house ‘magazine’ worthy it doesn’t normally look like this! You should see it today, piles of washing, and dog toys all over the place….hmmmm c’est la vie?

October issue Love Sewing Magazine

I also had a project for a pocket idea published in this months Love sewing magazine. I used my Neptune Green Diana F camera to style it. The thing is I was so distracted by playing with my temporary tattoo, that came with my new leather measuring bracelet, after snapping this pic I spilt my coffee all over the magazine!  So this is the first and last pics of my project…

We are very pleased with the house pics, even though we had to do so much tidying. So how long would it take you to get your house photo ready?

Have a great weekend

Id love it if you shared this post!

You have a very fun looking house. I love it! It wouldn't take me long to clean, or put stuff away, because we only moved onto the main level a few months ago. So I have very little stuff to put away or clean around. We've been living in one room in a basement since September of 2012 while we built our home, ourselves. However, I still have very little on the walls. I NEED to figure that out. It seems to be slowly evolving. We've had stuff hidden away here and there since we moved into the one room. I've been going through things a little at a time. But I think interesting homes evolve over time anyway. Love the pocket idea! I used to take a lace hanky and tuck it into my dress pocket back in the day when I had a full-time job.

Cindy it will all be so worth it in the end! And yes the best homes take time to settle into their own style xx

Truthfully? I'd probably have to move out and store everything first before it would be in any way ready to let a visitor in, let alone a photographer!
Your house is beautiful and photographs well. I love the look of it!

About six months – at least, that's the realistic timescale we've set ourselves to finish our house and put in on the market!
