I was born in the Autumn and I sometimes think this is the reason I love this season. Especially the early weeks when the sun is still shining and walks to the pub need neither a jacket or an umbrella! When you get there you can snuggle on the sofa in front of the fire. The dog loves to kick up the leaves and there is a slight hint of wood smoke in the air…
It goes without saying that I love log fires, wool blankets and snuggling on the sofa with the cat. This autumn I am planning and researching for a new sofa, or even two. I have pondered the shape and considered the vexing question of buying two or one large corner unit. I still can’t decide. What I am lusting after and obsessing over at the moment is velvet. Yes I want a velvet sofa… the search is on!
Here are a few I have found recently;
1. Butterbump Sofa from Loaf, I just love that name, apparently its a a cross between butterflies and goose bumps! Note how the different colours change the look and feel of each sofa? Hmm I’ll take two please. The dark grey is my current fave.
2: The Rousseau I am liking the shape of this one, it has a little bit of an art deco 1930’s feel to it and in grey again perhaps?..it also comes as a corner unitΒ Β available from Fishpools and handmade in the UK.
3. Young bean Chesterfield Sofa. This next one I completely adore but I want it in velvet…Oohhh pink velvet now fancy that, especially with a mucky dog, a long haired tabby cat and two engineers in the house? Β I would have to install it in my sewing room, now there’s an idea I could have my own boudoir!
Wish me luck? Shopping online is exhausting on the fingers! Time for another coffee and then the search must go on…
best
Update I finally chose a velvet sofa in a burnt orange colour!Β
