I am obsessing over texture.I love crochet bobble stitch and monochrome . In crochet that translates to one stitch or a very simple combination of stitches in only one colour. I do still love colour but too many colours these days can send my head into a spin. I want calm and peace, some days are just like that am I right?
The Bobble Stitch Cushion.
So having completed a basket stitch and a corner to corner cushion in grey, for our newly redecorated bedroom, I moved onto blush pink and the bobble stitch. I needed a cushion for my newly upholstered (by me) Ercol chair .
The Details:
Hook: I used my trusty Susan Bates bamboo handle hook, in a size 5mm.
Yarn: Pink is Sirdar super soft aran in shade 0915 (100g ball x 2 )
Green: Nordic by stylecraft super chunky in ‘sulphur’ (100g ball x 1)
I then hooked up two squares of each stitch to my desired cushion size. A pink one in bobble and alternating dc, and a green one in rows of alternating treble and dc’s
I was inspired as always by Pinterest. I gathered together everyone else’ patterns and ideas to see if anything triggered my imagination. You can see my board ‘Bobble Stitch’ crochet inspo board below…
Although I didn’t exactly follow a pattern in the end. The one my cushion most resembles is this one…
I can highly recommend it.By Miskunn It is found on Ravelry here she also sell on Etsy.
I am very happy with this simply design cushion. The stitch need very little thought, making this a good project to hook up whilst watching tv? Bobble stitch grows fast too!
What would you make in a bobble stitch? any ideas?
