Simplicity 8161 Outlander Costume plus Outlander Crochet Cowl Scarf pattern designed by me!
Outlander crochet cowl:
Can you believe I almost forgot about this project. Simplicity pattern projects are planned months in advance! So last summer I was very busy…
I designed and made this Outlander crochet cowl, to accessories Simplicity pattern 8161 or the ‘Outlander’ costume.
The Outlander Series: by Diana Gabaldon
Have you seen the TV series or read the Outlander books? I am totally addicted to the tv series
You can read all about the books here on Diana Gabaldon’s website
For colour and texture references I was sent some swatches of the fabric to be used and set to work…
I used Bergere de france, a super chunky yarn in the colour of Bistre (dark taupe) and a 15mm hook. It is a superb yarn and so very perfect for the 18th century, Scottish Highland, rustic peasant style.
