Books Crochet

Two crochet books reviewed:

When I say new I do of course mean new to me. Both of my new crochet books were published in 2015. Perhaps some of you may already own them by now? Both have been on my wish list for some time and both are inspiring…

Two New Crochet Books

I love to open the pages of any new crochet books at a random page and see what shows up! Let’s start with ’75 colourful Hexagons to Crochet’ by Leonie Morgan. Published by Search Press.

Two crochet books reviewed:

That word colourful does it for me every time. I just can’t wait to peek inside, hoping to get lost in a world of bright and colourful yarn. Take it from me you will be lost forever in this book, colour enough for days and days of  pretty hooky projects!

75 crochet Hexagons…

Leonie has created 75 hexagon patterns for us to do with as we want. If you are an adventurous crocheter I think this is a genius idea. I tried one pattern immediately…

Let me explain, sometimes I love a pattern and will complete it without changing one stitch, However oftentimes I feel I could improve a pattern and use it in a different way. So by giving us 75 pattern motifs, Leonie opens up a world of crochet adventure and imagination giving us plenty of inspiration to get started on our own ideas

There are five projects included in the book. I love this pretty bag…

Big Hook Rag Crochet

Next is a book I have ‘dillied and dallied’ over ordering. Big Hook Rag Crochet by Dedri Uys:

I am a huge fan of this type of modern crochet and have already hooked a few of my own variations of these projects. Like these pegboard pen pot holders below…the original post is here

Therefore I was slightly worried that there would be nothing new for me to learn? I was wrong, there are new and fresh designs in the book as well as all the usual pots and basket storage ideas. I am inspired to hook up the shopping basket/tote bag and make some more large plant holders…hmmmm Nice!

Dedri also includes some invaluable info on making your own t-shirt yarn with measurements on how much you will need…

In conclusion, like all good new crochet books these two make you wish for more hours in the day with which to crochet up some of these superb projects and gifts. I like them. I think you may too?

PS. I was sent these new crochet books free of charge, to review. However this in no way affects my opinion. If I did not like them I would say so!

Bestest wishes…
