Amigurumi Succulent: Cactus Carl is finally finished.

Karl the arigarumi cactus

I have been hinting at actually finishing something for sometime now, so you know what is coming next don’t you? Yep this is a FINALLY FINISHED post, it feels so good I had to shout it out in capitals!

Cactus Carl my amigurumi succulent, is finally finished. He took a few weeks of hard and fast hooking.I have to confess that lots of TV was watched whilst crocheting Carl. I think he has watched nearly every episode of ‘Undercover’ with me on a Sunday evening. I think Sunday evenings were made for crocheting don’t you?

The Details:

  • Pattern: designed by Lydia Tresselt aka lalylala. I bought mine here from her Etsy shop
  • Yarn: all stylecraft dk from my stash, except the red which was a tiny  ball, leftover from a Debbie Bliss yarn.
  • Hook: a 3.5mm as opposed to the 2,5mm recommended I like my lalylala creatures large!
  • Alterations: apart from going up a hook size, I substituted yellow yarn (stylecraft again) for the embroidery floss.

Lydia’s patterns are exquisite what an amazing talent she has. Plus they are very easy to follow and she includes very helpful images as part of the instructions too.

So here he is…

I think he is adorable, here he is with his best friend Paul the Toadie… (one I crocheted earlier) aren’t they sweet?

Those two little words ‘finally finished’ are music to my ears. Have you had a ‘finally finished’ moment recently?
