Five crochet hook holds from five crocheters

Thank you all so much for playing along on Instagram with the #ldjcrochethookup photo a day challenge. I am learning so much from our wonderful crochet community! Today I would love to chat about how we hold our crochet hook

Day 20 was a very interesting one. The prompt for the day was the idea from the queen of fun ig pics (and fast becoming an instagram superstar!) The one and only ‘Pony Mctate’ we called it hook hold,  it was of course all about sharing how you hold your hook. It is actually very difficult to photo a hook hold!

As we all know there is no right or wrong way and don’t let anyone tell you there is! There is however a suggested way and the guide is to hold it like a knife or a pen.

Day 20 has shown me there are far more ways to hold a crochet hook than just two and however you are comfortable holding your crochet hook, be it left or right handed is fine! Crochet is to be enjoyed.

I have chosen 5 pics from IG to illustrate my point…lots of peeps posted videos and that was so much fun to see.

Made by Victoria I simply love Victorias colourful wip! Its a Sophies Universe blanket.

Flower House Jane is a girl after my own heart, love that grey!

With wild hearts love how the hook matches the work!

I am loving Catarinas Ig feed her pics are so sweet. she makes dolls too!

I am so happy Mirjam from Stins place is now on instagram, she always puts a smile on my face!

Finally you probably want to know how I hold my hook? So this is my hyperlapse video showing my ‘Knife hold speeded up so you can’t see my bitten nails!

A post like this just begs the question. How do you hold your crochet hook are you a knife or a pen holder?
