Colour surrounds us and if you love colour like I do, it is easy to see perfect combinations and complimentary colours everywhere you go. Lately in order to record my favoured crochet colour palettes whilst out and about, I
started a folder on my phone, taking photos to record the colour palettes!
Crochet Colour Palettes inspired by 5 of my Vintage vases
Closer to home, I have some, vintage, well loved ceramics jars and vases that I use all the time. The idea is to learn to look at them with fresh eyes. Sometimes I think we stop ‘seeing/noticing’ the familiar things in our homes.
Here is a closer look at 5 of my vases that inspired these five colour palettes…
Vintage Vase in all the brights:
Greens, blue, purple and lilac…perhaps use the purple as the highlight here?
From A Vintage Ceramic Collection 3 colour Inspo
Yellow cream and black, use black as the highlight colour?
Italian Ceramic vase:
My personal favourite, I see this as stripes, again perhaps use the black as a thin edging?
I would use the cream, brown and blue as main colours in this last one, perhaps with some raised yellow and red polka dots!
So perhaps next time you want an original colour palette, check your kitchen cupboards!
The chances are you will have something tucked away that you love and will inspire you? How do you decide on your colours?
