Today at last I have some sewing inspiration and the sun is out. Happy happy happy!
So before my sewing mojo disappears for his lunch…
I thought I would share a sewing update.
My inspiration always comes from magazines and catalogues, mainly Boden but also recently from H&M.
I rip out anything I like, I try not to think about it too much, it is an instinctive process! I then tuck the ripped up picturess away for a while and let it all start to ‘take seed’ in my brain.
I sort through my stash of fabric and pull out anything that catches my eye, again no specific plans, no details, I just go with a feeling.
Later when inspiration strikes I haul it out and match ideas, fabric and pics. Then I pull out the scissors and switch on the machine.
Sometimes I use a pattern, but if its from a pic I usually have similar in my wardrobe, so I copy that.
Plans are afoot for a dress/tunic, a skirt and a coatigan…
Ok wish me luck? I’m off to sew for the first time in 2016…

Ps Big thank you to Caz P who very sensibly said my sewing mojo was ‘hibernating’ that made me feel sooo much better. It is on this post here about my sewing room.
