Lazy Daisy Jones

Create Interiors Our home

A revamped corner of my sewing room.

08/01/2016

I seem to have lost the urge to sew, yep I have lost my sewing mojo! I look through my fabric stash, I choose patterns, but blurrrgghh nothing pings, no inspiration to be found yet.

My solution is to update my sewing room, a mini make-over, I want to streamline it, declutter it and calm down the colours.
You may have seen some of these pics on instagram but I have added some ‘exclusive never seen before’ ones just for my blogger pals!

A hand sewing area:
I have created a ‘hand sewing area. I am sure you know how it is? Your new dress is finished and you want a cosy area to sit and finish the hem by hand, but if you join the rest of the family you will be distracted and will end up not finishing it until another day!

Over Christmas Marc helped me to revamp this little wooden trolley work-box. We stripped and painted it and I selected a new handle, from my jar of knobs… est voila!
The top is hinged,it lifts up to reveal a large storage area, there is a little drawer underneath and it has the dearest little casters on the legs, so very easily to move around. Needless to say this was a boot fair find! I still have to line the inside, so more on this one later.

I also framed some more fabric and moved all the pictures around. In the image below you can see my vanity cases. They are used to store, elastic, zips, ribbons etc etc and all within easy reach. You may have noticed the new rug is down? I think overall this area now looks calmer, cosy and above all comfy!

Marc has also made me some tall industrial shelves from wood and galvanised piping, you can see a glimpse of them in the top image. At present he is restoring a mini filing cabinet to go with my large turquoise one.

As you can see this is an ongoing project. For the next couple of weeks I will be sorting, clearing and tidying. I will then plan a grand reveal with as many before pics as I can find.

What do you think? Lets hope this helps me get my sewing Mojo back!
