December has been a busy but happy month for me I hope it has been a happy one for you too?
Whilst I work part time
and blog in my spare time, I very often find myself working on extra ‘projects’ that I call my ‘bits and pieces’ Sometimes I blog about them and sometimes I forget!
The highlight of my December so far, was seeing our home in a magazine, I felt so proud!
I know we all have different tastes and opinions as to what is ‘style’ and what is not. But seeing pictures in a magazine of our home, made me feel super proud. Maybe I am not the only one who thinks our home is good looking?
We have tried to restore and reuse wherever possible. Marc restored that red chair in the kitchen, after I rescued it from a skip. All the vintage Pyrex on the shelves was bought from boot fairs and we now have a larger kitchen table that Marc made from old scaffold planks and pipe work…
The pictures are of the corner of the lounge, 3 views of the kitchen, and a corner of the sitting room.
Did you see the tag line…” we take you past the front door of the UK’s most stylish homes” (gulp)
This article is in Very magazine its out now as part of the ‘OK magazine’ publishing bundle.
Some people might think that a lot of tidying up is done for ‘pretty pictures’ like these, the ones that appear in blogs and magazines. That may be true some of the time but just to prove it is not always so This was one of those same views taken on a messy Monday morning after a busy weekend…I did not move a thing, just took a couple of snaps….
Shame it is so dark and rainy here today, hence the lamp is on. It is a however a restored Anglepoise lamp (one that Marc fixed up earlier in the year)
The lounge however is another story, the table and sofa are covered in yarn!!
If you read Love Sewing magazine you may also have seen my ‘Diy tools’ article. I wrote it in the early Autumn. Marc had bought home a superb tool catalogue and I asked if I could accompany him to on his next visit to ‘Tool station’ I was fascinated to see how many of his nifty and cheap little tools would cross over into the sewing room…
My article was the result… just goes to show that inspiration is all around you!
I hope you enjoyed that little peep into the other things I do when I’m not working or blogging or simply just enjoying life?
Bestest festive wishes to you
