Tis the season of winter colds, teacher’s gifts and end of term activities. So much to do and think about! To help you out here is an simple DIY tutorial for you that you could get the kids to do, sewing machine is optional. I have kept it very very simple. Mini tissue covers for all those packs of Kleenex you keep in your handbag. You can hand sew or use the machine, it is up to you. Perfect for using up scraps of fabric too. Lets go!

To make this Teacher’s gift You will need:

A pack of mini tissues, I buy the multi packs from the supermarket at this time of year. You will always use and need them.
Scraps of fabrics,
A piece of paper to make a template,
Scissors or rota blade,
Pretty trims are optional.

Instructions

Cut out 4 pieces of fabric, 10 x 15cms
Top Tip – they don’t all have to be the same fabric, see below.

3. Place two of the pieces back to back or ‘wrong sides together’ these will be the lining and the base.

Fold the remaining pieces each in half as shown above. wrong side together.
Lay the folded pieces on top of the rectangles.

Top tip: The folded tops of your covers should be laying next to each other in the centre. Then they will be the right way up when you turn right side out!
Optional – If you want to add a trim, sew it under the folded edges before sewing the pieces together.
Sew all the way around the edge, trim corners, turn right side out and press.
