How I decorated my Hobbycraft advent Calendar

I begin to have those delightful feelings of excited anticipation at this time of year..do you?
The final few days before the advent calendars come out to play. I am a whirlwind of activity. planning whose calendar goes where, dusting and cleaning and of course planning those little suprises…

The teen usually has his Lego advent Calendar. I did ask if he wanted one this year but apparently it has a train included in the scene, so his answer was a yes!

I was lucky to have been sent a Hobbycraft Advent house* to decorate for myself. I wanted it to be an ‘Ice palace with a kitschy vintage twist’….. hmmmm!

My Diy: It goes like this…

1. I ask Marc to paint the whole thing but on the outside only. “Silver please?”

2. I ask Marc to help me cut out the little pieces of glittery paper. “cos you are much neater then me!”

 26 pieces later, he’s finished!

3. I buy a large pot of blue glitter and think about my next move…

4, I buy pretty stickers, some silver numbers and some Quality Street…

5. I throw glitter all over the table, stick the stickers on, eat some quality street toffees because they won’t fit in the little doors hallelujah! …

Make a beautiful mess until finally ‘Bob’s your Uncle…’

Now I just have to clear up the mess.

So what do you think? Is it ‘Ice Palace, Vintage and Kitschy’ enough for you?
