Bringing the outside in, a book review: Inspire by Willow Crossley
When I was younger I wanted to be called Willow. Later I wanted a girl kitten and to call her Willow. Neither of these wishes came true…
Growing up in the seventies I came to love my own unusual (for the time) name and to ignore all references to ‘Gone with the Wind’
The kittens I have owned were all male, only recently we adopted a female cat but at 8 years old she came with her own name.
I offer you this long explanation to explain how I came across this book.
It was the author’s name that first captured my attention whilst perusing ‘home and interior’ books online recently. Willow Crossley’s first book was called ‘The art Of Handmade Living’ published in 2012 you may have already have that one your book shelves? However the one I found and bought was this one:
Warning: A personal opinion will be aired in the next sentence!…
I am not a fan of anything cute or sweet, ‘Shabby Chic’ makes me run a mile, I have never ever liked pine furniture and flowers are not my usual thing.
(I dont wish to offended anyone,so please remember this is just my opinion, we all need to be different or the world would be sooo boring and we are all allowed to air a personal opinion now and then, right?)
Having said all that I love this book. It is incredibly chic in the truest sense of the word. Highly original too, Willow does not patronise the anti bouquet set and therefore assorted alternative ‘green decor’ is stylishly offered up. Willow has inspired me and to be inspired by a book is the highest praise I could give it.
Inspire by Willow Crossley buy it and you will be!
Right then, I am off to forage in the woods for more branches and berries etc etc…
