I love shoes therefore it follows that I love storage too, do you?
I am fascinated with all types of storage…
Clever storage, imaginative storage, adaptable storage the key word has to be ‘adaptable’ For me this means storage you can place in any room of your house and not only will it work hard ‘storing’ but it will still look marvelous and enhance the space that surrounds it.
So lets get down to the nitty-gritty, replace the word storage and insert the word ‘cupboard’ A clever cupboard, an adaptable cupboard. Now that is more like it?
I have a very clever and an extremely adaptable cupboard in my sewing room. you have probably seen it before…
I have to admit it does not look like that today, it is being painted and will then be moved to our bedroom, because it is an adaptable cupboard!
Marc is making me some industrial chic shelving units, I can’t wait to show you!
So where do you go to find cupboards that are useful and adaptable?
Do you like this one the ‘Denver two door oak cupboard’ ? I do its from
It is actually advertised as dining room furniture but I think this cupboard is so adaptable you could put it anywhere.
I would happily incorporate this into my sewing room. Maybe you cold place it in the the hallway and fill it with shoes? My shoes!
(By the way I own all those shoes in the pic, they are from the top: last years Orla Kiely, old fave’s ‘Darcie points’ from Boden and new boots from Top shop)
Even my son would love this in his room, to store his steam train collections.
Then there is the home office, or the study or the ‘man cave’ I could go on and on…
I would even put one of those bowl sinks on it and pop it in the downstairs toilet. Of course it is not meant for that purpose but I bet Marc, my very talented other half could sort something out for me, if I asked nicely.
Marc said he would put one in the garage and store his expensive tools in it. HmmI think not?
But then again just look at this idea for a garage/shed utility room…nice.
(those last two pics are from pinterest no other info available)
