A winner and a book review: London Stitch and Knit by Leigh Metcalf
At this time of year I stop buying books and add them to my wish list. (I am very good like that, I like to help out wherever I can with gift ideas for others to give to me ) if I was writing this on instagram I would be placing a ‘wink wink’ emoji right here…
This book did not make it to my ‘wish list’ because my fingers added it to my basket and then pressed ‘checkout’ dammit Amazon you make it too easy.
I knew it was a winner. The subject of this book is shops; haberdasheries and yarn and fabric shops. The shops in the book are all in the London area, north, south, east and west.
Marc and I love to go visit our capital city at least once a month. Exhibitions, shows, plays or just for a day out. Oftentimes we will find ourselves with time to spare, it is at these moments when I have wished for such a book. To know if the area you are visiting has any yarn or fabric shops and then to just pop in for a ‘look’ for me this means to pootle and probably buy!.
The styling is superb, the photography drool worthy and it is full of information that I actually need to know. I only wish it was pocket size and then it could live in my handbag!
Put this one on your Christmas wish list and lets arrange a meet up? Yes please!
Best
