I thought I would share with you a fun DIY idea, that my very talented other half came up with…I have a huge collection of buttons and wooden beads I store them in vintage glass jars in my sewing room. Some of this collection I have had for years but I know they will all come in useful one day! Do you have ‘collections‘ like that, just waiting for their turn in the spotlight?
A clever diy idea for wooden beads
Well, I made another hanging plant pot holder., this time in a classic black. However this time plain wooden beads were not an option. I needed beads that were not only wooden but bright, my original idea included a hint of copper. Here is the finished item below, you can see the copper coloured wooden beads glinting in the light.
My talented other half came to the rescue. He bought spray paint from our local Diy store. It was appropriately named “Bright Copper” and set to work. How do you suppose he intended to spray those little wooden beads with an even coverage, two coats and no drips?
Like this a genius idea or what?

Spray painted wooden beads
Problem solved! Do you know he even made me two hooks to hang the pot holders on.
Handmade and ‘Industrial chic’ two of my favourite things… We love the Industrial chic look in our house, rugged simplicity at its best.
I am planning on spraying more beads soon…blue I think?
