I have been busy lately, obsessing over hanging plant pot holders. I have hooked and knotted up three so far and plan on more as soon as I have time…
However, in order to have hanging plant pot holders you need to have plants to hang up in them!
It all started when my local diy store offered a ‘3 for 2’ on plants. I bought three Chlorophytum Comosum! thats a ‘Spider Plant’ to me. The plants bought back vivid memories of growing up in the seventies, our house was full of them!
As you probably know, these plants grow ‘babies’ on the end of sprouting stalks so before I knew it my babies needed ‘planting on’ and I was fast running out of suitable indoor pots. I rifled through the garden ones and came up with this idea…
A simple DIY idea to decorate tatty terracotta pots and bring them inside…
1. You will need: Pots, spray paint and masking tape.
2. Mask off the areas you don’t want painted:
3. Take out side to spray. Spray lightly, using two coats to avoid drips. Allow to dry to touch dry between coats. TIP: Hanging the pot to spray is easier than holding it!
4. Remove the tape when the paint is still ‘slightly tacky’ after the second coat.
5. Plant up!
It doesn’t have to be perfect, mine are not.
Just enjoy yourself, add more of less of the paint, make it fancy or keep it simple as I have done?
What do you think of my budding nursery?
