I dont think it is naughty, do you? To have lots going on, all at the same time?…
My Mum, however did teach me to finish one thing before I started another!
The result back then, when still a teen at home, was that I got so fed up with what I was doing and bored (especially if the project was not working) that I never, ever finished anything, and therefore was not allowed to start anything else…!
Unhappy, creative frustration.
I have lots of projects, simply because each one satisfies my interest at the time. I like a project for the garden, one for relaxing in front of the TV, one that challenges me and one that is a long term project to take my time over and savour.
I am sure if you are a regular reader of my blog that you will have seen these baskets of ‘wips’ before?
This is my latest one, it is a challenge to me, a lace crochet project: only 3 motifs so far, but I am enjoying hooking up something delicate…
I find that if a project is not working it is best to leave it for awhile and come back to it later with a clear head. Do you find that too?
If you were counting the baskets on the table you may have noticed there are only four and the title of this post says ‘five baskets’
Here it is, the fifth and the messiest one, that holds bits of everything and the mags that have projects in that I am still interesting in trying.
The baskets are my yarn projects, I haven’t mentioned my sewing projects yet!!
Have you counted up your ‘wips’ recently?
