Sewing ruffles…
I am loving the sound of this word today ‘ruffles’ don’t you think it sounds like something soft and fun? It even rhymes with truffles. How can anyone not love a word like that?
I want to sew ruffles on everything at the moment…
The dress I am wearing in these pics is a vintage one, probably from the early seventies. Very “Abigails Party”
It is ankle length, has an ‘A- line’ shape and as you can see on the end of the sleeves ruffles…
Hence my interest in all things ruffled. A quick search in my vintage pattern stash revealed a few more ruffled styles….
I had a look through my very old sewing books, this one was my school book and is still in weekly use!
Instruction on how to sew and cut out ruffles….
Ruffles, Ruffles and Ruffles…..
I have so many ruffling plans …..
until later then…
Bestest as usual
PS April ‘Man Sew’ has been sewn, however Mr April is away on business and therefore unavailable for modelling assignments at present. Rest assured Man Sew fans I will capture him at the weekend…
